There will be a Dance Chorus. There will
be a Singing Chorus.

REQUIREMENTS
• Bring sheet music
in appropriate key
• Bring resume (list of experience
is acceptable)
• Bring headshot (or small non-returnable
photograph)
• Non-professionals able to speak
loudly and clearly
• Be prepared to sing 16 bars
(possibly more)
• An accompanist is provided
• Appropriate R&H songs preferred
• Singing from the score is acceptable

Curly, 25-35 confidant,
charismatic, handsome leading man, a
cowboy, loves Laurey; baritone (low
C to high F)
Laurey, 25-35 must
be an excellent dancer, loves Curly,
an innocent but spunky & headstrong
farm girl; soprano
Ado Annie, 25-35 fun
loving, good-time girl, flirtatious,
gullible, must have comedic abilities
and be a good dancer; soprano (low C
to high F)
Will Parker, 25-35
hapless, young cowboy, loves Ado Annie,
not overly bright, should be an accomplished
theatre dancer, preferably with acrobatic
skills, charming, fun-loving, energetic;
tenor (low D to high F)
Jud Fry, 27-40 strong
actor, sullen, mysterious, dangerous;
disturbed, troubled man with a powerful,
brooding presence; hired hand on Laurey's
farm; bass-baritone (low D to C#)
Ali Hakim, 28-50 character
actor-singer, a traveling peddler and
con artist; middle eastern accent mixed
with midwest overtones; must be rhymical
Aunt Eller, 40s-60s
Laurey's aunt/guardian, sensible, tough,
hardworking farm woman; character actress
with great sense of humor; mezzo (low
G to high F)
Pop Carnes, 50s-60s
Ado Annie's father; great character
actor-singer, must be rhymical, dry
humor, big presence, must move well;
tenor (F to high F)
Ike Skidmore, 40s-60s
preferably a burly cowboy, must be rhymical;
baritone (D to F#)
